Abstract

1356362 Cutting concrete blocks STORK AMSTERDAM NV 23 Feb 1972 8406/72 Heading B5A [Also in Division B8] A block 3 of cellular concrete, is cut into slabs while supported in a cage 9 that is capable of both rotation and translation. A cellular concrete block 4 is supported in its casting position on a trolley 14, which is moved along a pair of guides on to aligned guides 12 supported within the cage 9 by lazy-tongs 16, and is locked into position. A second trolley 13 is moved by supporting guides 11 and lazy-tongs 15 to engage the side of the block 4. A frame 6 that supports the cage 9 by rollers 8, is moved to the left on tracks 5, so that the cage 9 is rotated about its central axis 10 by a pair of attached locating lugs 17 engaging a fixed pivot pin 20. The block 4 is thus rotated through 90 degrees to a position 3, and the guides 12 and trolley 14 retracted. Cutting wires are moved vertically from the trolley 13 to cut the block 3 into slabs, the trolley 13 is unlocked and moved from guides 11 for transport away on further, aligned guides. An empty trolley takes its place, the tongs 15 are retracted, the cage 9 rotated back to the right, the empty trolley 14 removed along further guides, and the operation repeated.
