Abstract

1356256 Roof flashings G C GEDDES 16 July 1971 [17 July 1970] 34724/70 Heading E1W A roof flashing comprises primary flashing strips A of generally L-section with an inturned drip check flange (not shown). The primary strips may be of aluminium and are fixed with an air gap between themselves and a waterproof covering 8 to a concrete roof substructure 7 by a central fixing (not shown). At their opposite ends they engage a connecting element which secures them to the roof structure but allows longitudinal expansion and contraction by means of dovetail engagement of flanges or engagement of a drip check flange with a channel formation on the connecting element and a channel formation on a downturned upper edge with a downturned flange on the connecting element (Figs. 5 and 6) not shown. The connecting element is fixed to the roof structure by a bolt 10 and nut 11 and is spaced therefrom by a plate 9 which may have an offset securing fixture (not shown).
