Abstract

1354409 Television SIEMENS AG 15 July 1971 [21 July 1970] 33261/71 Heading H4F To improve the contrast and reduce the effects of reflected light from the screen of a CRT display an open wire mesh mask is mounted in front of the tube's screen. The mask comprises mutually perpendicular weft and warp bronze wires attached to a rectangular frame by an adhesive, the completed mask being stained matt black. The frame is bowed to match the bowing or dishing of the display tube, the vertical wires being stretched to lie straight and the horizontal wires being pulled taut but held curved by the vertical wires so that the mesh is bowed away from the CRT.
