Abstract

1352411 Diazonium condensates KALLE AG 20 April 1971 [22 April 1970] 10160/71 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C3 and G2] A light-sensitive condensation product (P) consists of at least one unit each of the general types A(-D) n and B, which units are connected in each case by a bivalent intermediate member derived from a condensable carbonyl compound, wherein A is a radical of a compound containing at least two homocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic nuclei, and B is a radical of a compound free from diazonium groups, these compounds each being capable of condensation in at least one position with an active carbonyl compound in an acid medium, D is a diazonium salt group attached to an aromatic carbon atom of A, and n is 1 to 10. Product (P) contains, on average, 0À01 to 50 B units per unit of A(-D) n . Product (P) may have mole ratio A(-D) n /B of from 0À5 to 2. Long lists of ingredients for making (P) are given. Preferred are condensates of a 3-alkoxy diphenylamine-4-diazonium salt, and a diphenyl ether, sulphide, or methane, or diphenyl. The preparation of product (P) is described in Specifications 1,302,717, 1,312,925 and 1,312,926. Use.-In resin compositions for coating supports which may be light-treated and etched to form reproduction material or printed circuits.
