Abstract
1352003 Engine stop gear RHEINSTAHL AG 28 July 1971 [5 Dec 1970] 35445/71 Heading F1K In a device for automatically switching off the fuel supply to a Diesel engine in dependence on at least one fault condition which condition is signalled by an electrical signal by way of a time delay element after the lapse of a predetermined space of time, a cut-out electromagnet 31 on the control rod of the injection pump of the engine is energized and produces a displacement of the rod as a result of which the engine is switched off, the operational readiness of the device being blocked during the starting of the engine until a minimum speed of the engine is reached and for a predetermined period of time thereafter by an arrangement in which a further time delay element operating in dependence on the charge on a capacitor can be tripped by an electrical input signal proportional to engine speed from an electrical generator 1 by way of a threshold value switch 3. The electrical input signal proportional to the engine speed may be derived from the electrical generator and/or the electrical tachometer of the engine. The system includes three time delay elements 19, 22 and 44 and a number of NOR elements and a former amplifier 29 connected to the cut out electromagnet 31. The heater plug switch 12 is connected to a contact 13 of a starter safeguard relay 14. The switches 37 and 38 are controlled by the state of the coolant and the pressure of the lubricant.
