Abstract

1351044 Warp knitted pile fabric KARL MAYER TEXTIL - MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH 19 April 1971 [29 Jan 1970] 20340/71 Headings D1C and D1K In a warp knitted pile fabric the pile yarn is anchored by being overlapped by each of two ground yarns in turn, while the needles are in a raised position. When the needles descend, the portion of the pile yarn between the held positions and the knocking over bits is projected to form the pile loop. In the embodiment shown the front guide bar L1 is lapped to form open chain stitches, L2 loops yarn around the needles, and L3 guides pile yarn. After a first swing through the needles L2 forms an overlap to anchor the pile yarn at 1. A fall plate pushes the loop below the latch, and bar L3 underlaps after a forward swing. After a second rear swing the same cycle L1 overlaps to anchor the pile yarn again at 2. In further embodiments a chain stitch-forming yarn forms pile, with, or without the use of a fall plate.
