1348576 Looms SULZER BROS Ltd 19 April 1971 [9 April 1970] 26363/71 Heading D1E In a loom, the cloth roll 76 is mounted above the loom frame on a structure providing inclined parallel tracks 25 for guiding the roll on and off the loom, and means for raising and lowering the roll. Fabric 95, after being taken up by the sand roll 22 is guided by members 24, 96 and 97 under a gangway 89 for the operator and over a further member 98 and rolls 28 and 45 to the cloth roll 77. Fabric is taken up by rotating' one or both of the rolls 34, 37 on which the cloth roll 77 is supported by a chain drive (108), Fig. 5 (not shown) which is driven by sprocket 104 freely mounted on the sand roll shaft 99 and rotated by a spring loaded friction clutch 102 mounted on the shaft. The means for raising and lowering the cloth roll comprises chains 81 connected to the ends of the cloth beam 76 and moved in either direction by a handoperated crank handle 63. One of the rolls 37 on which the cloth roll 77 is supported may be lowered to 37' by rotating a handle 43 to allow the cloth roll to roll off it.
