Abstract

1,018,409. Take-up motions. WILLIAM BIRTWISTLE ALLIED MILLS Ltd. Nov. 20, 1964 [Nov. 26, 1963], No. 46570/63. Heading D1E. Cloth 3 from the loom is delivered by a sand roller 5, passes under the loom and then to a spring loaded pivoted roller or bar 8 which, as it rises, operates a switch 15 to start a motor 14 which drives a roller 4 feeding the cloth on to the beam 12. The roller 4 feeds at a greater linear speed than the cloth is produced so that the roller 8 falls and switches off the motor 14. The cloth may be shielded where it passes under the loom and the switch 15 may operate an electromagnetic clutch connected between the loom drive and the roller 4.
