1346622 Two-stage stranding INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 30 Nov 1971 [4 Dec 1970] 55450/71 Heading D1T A plurality of wires are wound in parallel onto each of a number of supply spools 1, 2, 3 which are mounted in swingable cradles in a "double-twisting" machine 4. The wires from each spool are twisted together into strands at bushes 1b, 2b, 3b, and the resultant strands are drawn as a bunch 13 through a bush 12 where they are twisted together in the same sense as the component wires. A false-twisting device 15 temporarily imparts additional twist to eliminate any tendency to untwist. Devices 1a, etc. may be used to prevent running back of the basic twist.
