Abstract
1320770 Bunching apparatus M MARTINEZ 22 Dec 1971 [23 Dec 1970] 61183/70 Heading D1T A bunching and twisting apparatus is characterized by means for producing simultaneously two bunched strands, these strands being fed to take-up spools that apply a further twist to the strands. Fig. 1 shows two embodiments. In a first embodiment a central flyer 21 rotates about a stationary carrier 13 carrying two sets of supply bobbins 19. The wires from the right hand set of bobbins 19 pass through a bearing 14, around guide roll 20, along flyer 21 and thence as bunched wires to a flyer 29 disposed on the left hand side of flyer 21. The flyer 29 inserts a further twist and revolves around a stationary take-up spool 27 having traverse means 28. In a similar manner wires from the left-hand set of bobbins 19 are bunched by the flyer 21 and then passed to a flyer 29 disposed on the right hand side of flyer 21. The flyer 29 inserts a further twist and revolves around a stationary take-up spool 27 having traverse means 28. In the second embodiment of Fig. 1 the right and left flyers 29 are replaced by a single flyer 37 revolving around two take up spools 34, 35 and associated traverse means. In Fig. 2 (not shown) a first set of wires bunched and twisted by a first flyer are passed to a second flyer for further twisting. Similarly a second set of wires bunched and twisted by the second flyer are passed to the first flyer for further twisting. Each flyer revolves around a stationary take-up spool and traverse means for winding up the bunched strands received from the other flyer.
