Abstract

1346060 Adjustable seats DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 22 Nov 1971 [1 Dec 1970] 57144/70 Heading A4J An aircraft seat, e.g. a helicopter seat, is adjustable to compensate for nose down pitch displacement of the aircraft by providing on each side of the seat, a roller 14 supported on a fixed track 15 and a support link 17 pivotally connected at 19 to the underside of the seat frame and at 23 to an electrically operated actuator 21. Operation of the actuator causes links 17 to swing and roller 14 to roll along tracks 15 causing the seat to tilt. Switching on of the actuator may be manual or in response to signals from a pitch sensitive device such as an artificial horizon.
