Abstract

1345355 Securing railway rails to sleepers SOC D' ETUDES FERROVIAIRES 19 April 1971 [16 Feb 1970] 21276/71 Addition to 1255412 Heading E1G The insulated rail fastening of the parent specification is modified to accommodate greater vertical movements of the rail R-e.g. when the rail rests on a concrete slab through cellular elastomeric pads 3-by interposing an additional spring strip 16 between the nut E and the spring strip 15 bearing on the apertured plastics body 7. The outer branch of the body 7 has a bottom recess providing spaced seatings 12, 13. The height of the rail and fastening may be adjusted by corresponding blocks 19, 20. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the rail is adjusted laterally by a selected block (18) between the abutment (5) and plastics body (7).
