1345144 Benzoisothiazoles IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 18 May 1971 [4 Aug 1970] 37586/70 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] Novel compounds of formula where R is C 1-12 alkyl, optionally substituted by alkoxy, nitro or alkoxycarbonyl, optionally substituted cycloalkyl or optionally substituted aryl and ring A may also be substituted are prepared by reacting a sulphenyl halide with an o-sulphobenzoic imide as its alkali metal salt or in the presence of an acid binding agent. The products are used as anti-scorch agents in rubber vulcanizing.
