Abstract

1344436 Cylinder heads AUTOMOBILES M BERLIET 26 Feb 1972 8968/72 Heading F1B A diesel engine cylinder head, for an engine having in each cylinder four valves grouped around a central injector, comprises inlet ducts 110, 112 all opening at one lateral face 3 and exhaust ducts 117, 118 opening at an opposite face 4, the inlet and exhaust ducts for each cylinder being substantially identical, each pair of inlet ducts being substantially symmetrical with the pair of exhaust ducts for the same cylinder, each pair of inlet and exhaust ducts having one duct 110, 117 which extends from a lateral face in a direction substantially perpendicular to the face and then curves inwardly to the associated valve socket whilst the other duct 112, 118 of the same pair follows an S- shaped path.
