Abstract
1344365 Electrostatographic developer mixture XEROX CORP 19 April 1971 [3 Feb 1970] 20804/71 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions C1 C3 and G2] An electrostatographic developer mixture comprises finely-divided toner particles electrostatically clinging to the surface of beads each comprising a core coated with a polyester prepared from diallyl isophthalate, diallyl phthalate or diallyl chlorendate or mixtures or prepolymers thereof. The toner particles may consist of carbon black dispersed in a resin. The bead core may be of NaCl, NH 4 Cl, AlKCl 4 NaNO 3 , KClO 3 , zircon, Si, SiO 2 , flintshot, ferite, carborundum, Rochelle salt, glass, polymethyl methacrylate, iron, steel or nickel. Metals, non-metals, metal compounds, phthalocyanines and other organic compounds (many specified) in particulate form may be added to the polymer coating material to alter the triboelectric value of the coated carrier. The polymer coating can be applied to the beads as a monomeric solution or a prepolymer solution by mixing, dipping or spraying followed by curing. When incorporating the above additives, the polymer coating composition may also be applied as a powder, dispersion, emulsion or hot melt by fluidised bed coating tumbling or brushing.
