Abstract
1343903 Pipe couplings TAYLOR & OSBORNE Ltd 2 March 1972 [13 April 1971] 9176/71 Heading F2G In a quick-acting valved coupling, the spigot 28 is tiltable, while sealed in annular seal 17, so as to be held against withdrawal by the interengagement of flange 34 with one of a number of banks 42. Longitudinal ridges 48 ensure that any tilting produces the interengagement. A second holding position (Fig. 3, not shown), with valve 30 closed, is provided by flange 32. The parts of the coupling may be of nylon or, where subject to wear of glass-filled nylon. Cup 30 seats in a rubber ring 17 and a stainless steel spring 20 may be omitted when the coupling is used for compressed air above 30 p.s.i.
