1343039 Photographic cameras IMPERIAL CAMERA CORP 22 April 1971 10679/71 Heading G2A The film advancing mechanism of a camera described in Specification 1286375 is modified to also provide indexing mechanism for a rotatable socket (26) Fig. 2 (not shown). Depression of shutter release 22, besides operating the shutter and firing a flash-bulb of a flashcube in the socket, also pivots a shutter lever plate 80 and this in turn actuates a drive element 98 to pivot a camming element 44. Movement of the element 44 pivots a dog 64, Figs.3, 4 out of engagement with a ratchet 36, removes a finger (38), Fig. 6 (not shown) from a film perforation so as to free the film for advance, and also rotates an extension 140 which in turn rotates a lever arm 142 to bring a latching element 150 out of engagement with a lobe 156 of the socket drive element (158), Figs. 15-18 (not shown) and its end 170 into engagement with a spring 168, Fig. 4. Indexing. Actuation of a film advance knob causes rotation of the socket drive element (158) via the ratchet 36 and gears 160, 166. The bottom (as seen in Fig. 4) lobe 156 engages an edge 173 of latching element 150, thereby pivoting the latter against the action of the spring 168 so that the element 150 returns its Fig. 3 position after the top lobe Fig. 4 has cleared a finger 154 which is thus free to engage the next lobe. This limits socket rotation to 90 degrees. A slip clutch allows further rotation of ratchet 36, which is re-latched by the dog 64 when the finger (38) engages the next film perforation.
