1338919 Cerium oxide KEMIRA OY 14 Sept 1971 [15 Sept 1970] 42841/71 Heading C1A Cerium oxide having an improved degree of whiteness is produced by neutralization of a slurry of cerium oxalate to pH 7 and adding sodium silicate, magnesium oxide, aluminium nitrate or mixtures of aluminium nitrate with sodium silicate or sodium borate as an additive or additives to bind impurities in an amount, for each additive, equal to 0À1-0À5% of the CeO 2 , the resulting mixture being calcined at 900‹ C. to produce CeO 2 .
