Abstract
1337246 Clamps ETABS CAILLAU 24 May 1972 [24 May 1971] 24512/72 Heading E2B The clamping screw 8 of a band clamp 2 is carried in a stirrup 7 which is able to pivot up about trunnions 6 in side walls 4 when not in use and axially displaced, but in use, is held down by arms 10 which project under lugs 9 extending axially from the ends of the side walls. The force of the screw is taken by hooked arms 12 which engage abutments 13 on the side walls at 14. In a modification, (Figs. 3, 4, not shown), hooked abutments (17, 18) on the side walls project upwardly through holes (16) in the stirrup. In a further embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown), the arms on the stirrup have inclined abutment surfaces 12 which force the side-walls towards each other. (For Figures see next column)
