Abstract

1336687 Door closer VEREINIGTE BAUBESCHLAGFABRIKEN GRETSCH & CO GmbH 10 May 1972 [15 May 1971] 21679/72 Heading E2M A door closer includes a housing 1 accommodating a closer spring 5 and a damping piston 6 cooperating by means of a linkage 4 with a spindle 3 which projects through a lid (24), Fig. 2 (not shown), of the housing for connection directly or through a lever to a door, the housing having two bores 2, 2' in either of which the spindle 3 may be mounted (according to whether a left-hand or right-hand door is being used), there being a detent device 7 in the bore not occupied by the spindle. The detent device is formed as a unit insertible into the bore, and comprises a disc 11 having a cut-out portion 34 to accommodate a bearing (10) of the spindle, and carrying, in a transverse bore 12, a spring-loaded bolt 13 carrying a roller 15 which may engage in one or more cut-out portions 8 of a cam ring 9 held against rotation on the spindle 3 by knurling 31. The detent device may be rendered inoperative by a rotatable blocking shaft 20 which may engage a cut-out portion 23 on the bolt and which projects through the lid (24).
