Abstract

1334547 Anchoring sockets in concrete; releasable fastenings T WAERNER 30 Nov 1970 [4 Dec 1969] 56779/70 Headings E1S E1W and E2B A tubular plastics anchoring socket 2 for embedding in concrete 1 has recesses 3, 13 or indented portions which engage or resiliently hold reinforcing bars 4, 12. The wing 8 of a fixing bar 14 is rotated to engage two steel inserts 7, 9 held in pockets 6, 10 below the bars 4, 12. In this way the reinforcing bars take part of the load on the fixing bar. The socket may be clamped to the inside of temporary shuttering prior to the positioning of reinforcement and casting. The recesses or indented portions may be curved (Fig. 11, not shown), and plastics spacers (75) Fig. 12 (not shown) may be clipped to the bottom of the socket to hold the reinforcing wires (72, 73).
