Abstract

1334141 Electro-solography XEROX CORP 27 Oct 1970 [29 Oct 1969] 51011/70 Headings G2C and C17D2 In an electro-solographic imaging process the ,imaging member has overlying the softenable layer containing the particulate material therein or thereon or there is applied to the softenable layer during or after softening an absorbent blotter member, which is removed after imaging so as to withdraw from the imaged substrate the residual softenable material. Various paper tissues are specified for use as the absorbent blotter layer and the softenable layer may be heat or solvent softenable. The absorbent blotter may take the form of a roller see Fig. 2, through which the softening liquid is applied, the liquid being fed to absorbent layer by pipe 15. In an alternative embodiment a dual roller is employed, see Fig. 3, in which roller 20 applies softening liquid and roller 21 is a blotter roller.
