Abstract

1333825 Container lifting frame for lift trucks LANCER BOSS GROUP Ltd and G N BOWMAN-SHAW 30 Dec 1971 [8 Jan 1971] 1091/71 Heading B8H An attachment for a fork lift truck for lifting containers consists of a frame 4 which comprises a longitudinal member 6 and transverse member 7, means 5 on the member 6 for engagement with the forks of the fork lift truck, pins 8 on the side of the attachment nearest the lift truck which initially engage the side apertures in the top corner pieces of the container and then pins 12 each mounted on an arm 10 on the other side of the attachment are moved inwardly into the apertures in the sides of top corner pieces on the opposite side of the container by means of hydraulic rams 15 whose pistons 14 are pivotally connected to the arms 10. The members 6, 7 may be extendable in length to accommodate containers of various sizes. In a further embodiment, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown), pins (12) engage in end apertures of the top corner pieces, said pins being connected to a rod (16) connected to a ram (17) for rotation.
