Abstract

1328101 Load lifting attachments LANCER BOSS Ltd 24 Aug 1970 [2 Sept 1969] 43433/69 Addition to 1228170 Heading B8H A load lifting attachment, shown in plan view in Fig. 1, for use with a fork lift truck for lifting container loads from above comprises a main frame 1 having at one or both ends (both ends shown) an extension element 2 slidable longitudinally of the main frame 1, the element 2 being retained in a selected position by a pin (3), Fig. 2 (not shown). Transverse elements 5, which may also be telescopic, carry means 6 at each end to engage the container for lifting it. A pair of fork receiving elements 7 is mounted on the frame 1 and these operate as described in Specification 1,287,627. Fig. 4 shows an alternative construction comprising a main frame 31 with slidable extensions 32 and fork receiving channels 36. The extensions 32 are moved by rods 41 connected respectively to the upper and lower runs of a chain 42 passing over sprockets 43 and driven by an hydraulic motor 44. The fork receiving channels 36 can be shifted longitudinally of the frame 31, by a ram 49 connected between transom 35a and a channel 36, to balance the load. Rams 51 may slue the frame 31 with respect to the channels 36 to align the attachment with the load to be lifted.
