Abstract
1333761 Shelving J H DAVIES 16 Feb 1972 [2 Dec 1970] 57341/70 Heading A4B A shelf 4 with a row of apertures or slots 5 spaced from the centre of gravity of the shelf 4 is supported by at least three substantially vertical rods 1 which are a clearance fit in the apertures or slots 5 so that the shelf 4 is frictionally supported on the rods 1 under the action of its own weight. The apertures or slots 5 may have inclined axes. A reinforcing bar 7, Fig. 3, may be secured to the underside of a thin shelf 4. A U-shaped reinforcing channel (11), Fig. 4 (not shown) may be fitted over the rear edge of the shelf. In a modification, Fig. 7 the slots 18 are open to to the rear, the rear edge of the effective slot being defined by a detachable wire 19. In another embodiment, Fig. 8 (not shown), the slots (23) are open to the rear edge of the shelf and are L-shaped.
