Abstract

1332707 Seats A MARTINI 1 Dec 1970 [17 Jan 1970] 57051/70 Headings A4H A4J and A4U In a seat comprising a supporting frame 1 and a removable seating body 2, connected by snapaction means, the body 2 is a flanged one-piece plastics moulding with seat and back-rest portions, formed with a pocket 13 at the front edge and with ribs 16, 17 inside the side flanges. The frame comprises leg members 3, 4 connected by crossbars and secured to channel members 6, 7 on which the bottom edges 18, 19 of the body 2 rest, the inner walls of the members 6, 7 having fixed to them a member 5 which enters the pocket 13 to support the front edge of the body 2. When the body is lowered on to the frame, the ribs 16, 17 snap over the ends 21, 22 of the member 5 to hold the body in place. The top of the leg member 4 is provided with a rigid loop 11 to fit over the top 12 of the leg member 3 of another similar chair, to enable the chairs to be readily connected in rows.
