Abstract

1330441 Rotary positive displacement pumps ITT FLUID HANDLING Ltd 3 Feb 1972 5033/72 Heading F1F A fluid pump has a by-pass circuit comprising two ports in an end face 3 of the pump which communicate with the pump inlet and pump outlet respectively and which, at least when the pump is inoperative, are closed by a diaphragm 4 urged against face 3 by spring 8. Diaphragm 4 is mounted in a housing 1 attached to face 3 and a thrust pad 6 with a pin 7 is attached to the back face of dia- phragm 4. An adjustable cap 10 engages the end of pin 7. According to the settings of spring 8 and pin 7, the diaphragm 4 will move away from the ports to create a by-pass for the pump when required.
