Abstract
1329788 Electrolytic machining A E G ELOTHERM GmbH 28 June 1971 [31 July 1970] 30150/71 Heading C7B For electro-sinking a cylindrical cavity in a workpiece a combination of a tubular electrode tool and a masking member is used, the electrode tool having a longitudinal conduct therethrough for the passage of electrolyte and having its external surface substantially covered with insulating material. The masking member, in use, is brought into sealing contact with the workpiece and has an aperture through which the tool passes during the electro-sinking operation, the aperture corresponding in size and shape to the crosssection of the cavity to be formed. At least that region of the masking member which, during the operation contacts the area of workpiece surface which forms the lip of the cavity, is formed of electrically-conductive, electro-chemicallyinsoluble material such as graphite.
