Abstract

1329737 Suspension &c devices A A HULTBERG and N E WESTLUND 23 Dec 1970 [23 Dec 1969] 61232/70 Heading E2A A device for suspending and fixing the position of light-weight articles, such as mobiles, at a desired level below a suspension attachment point, comprises a suspension wire, having attachment means 4, such as hooks, at each end thereof and at least one intermediate portion 2 between the attachment means. The portion 2 is in the form of a tightly wound helical coil of metal wire adapted to be extended to a desired length up to an amount equal to the difference between the length of the wire of the intermediate portion and the coil length of that portion and to retain the extended length without springing back, whereby a lightweight article may be suspended at the extended length from the attachment point; the attachment means at at least one end of the wire has a curved portion 3a provided with ridges 5 extending transversely of the suspension wire with turns of the wire adjacent the respective end or ends thereof engaged on the ridges. There may be a number of spaced apart coils forming the portion 2, and the coil or coils may be circular, triangular or square in cross-section.
