Abstract

1327967 Sealing treatment chambers BRUCKNER - APPARATEBAU MICHELSTADT GmbH 15 Jan 1971 [20 Jan 1970] 2063/71 Heading D1L In apparatus for the treatment of webs with gases where the web is passed through chambers connected by a slot through which the web passes, leakage, of gas through the slot is prevented. The gas in chamber 4 is continuously withdrawn and pumped to nozzles 11 on either side of the mouth of slot 8 through which web 2 passes. The gas issues from the slot approximately tangentially to the path of the web and prevents the gas in chamber 4 from passing through the slot, as well as generating no suction which could draw gas from the adjacent chamber 3 through the slot. Similar nozzles 10 may be provided on the other side of the slot.
