Abstract
1327422 Frozen food package F D MONTGOMERY 25 Aug 1970 [25 Aug 1969] 40819/ 70 Heading A2D A substantially air-tight food package comprises frozen cooked food pieces which are free of excess water and which are arranged in a container with voids between them so that a hot fluid can move through the voids and quickly thaw the food pieces when they are required to be eaten, and one or more dry or frozen additives. The food pieces may be meat, fish, fowl, vegetables or mixtures thereof. Additives which may be present in the package are starch, flour, salt, pepper, shortening and herbs. The additive may form a sauce when water is added to the container. The package may be prepared by a process comprising the steps of cooking the food to remove free water, cutting the food into desired pieces before and/or after cooking, freezing the pieces, arranging the pieces in a container so as to leave voids between them, adding one or more additives to the container and closing the container.
