Abstract

1327000 Vessels provided with cooling means GLACIER WARE Inc 6 July 1971 [8 July 1970] 31627/71 Heading A4A [Also in Division F4] A combined drinking cup and freezing device for a liquid beverage comprises an open topped inner receptacle 12 for the beverage and an outer receptacle 14 forming a permanently sealed compartment 16 jacketing the inner receptacle and containing a refrigerant 18 with a freezing point substantially below 32‹F. e.g. a propylene glycol and water mixture. The ratio of the refrigerant mass to the mass capacity of the receptacle 12 is in the range 0.7/1 and 3.0/1. The device is formed of polyethylene, having a separate exterior shell 32 provided with an insulated handle 40 and has a lip 22 adapted to form an insulated air space between the shell and receptacle 14. The refrigerant is pre-cooled in a refrigerator prior to use for reducing beverages to a frozen or semifrozen condition.
