Abstract
1326846 Ferritic steel SCHOELLERBLECKMANN STAHLWERKE AG 22 Oct 1971 [23 Oct 1970] 49313/71 Heading C7A A corrosion-resistant ferritic steel comprises, in weight per cent:- and titanium in an amount at least 12 times the carbon content. The balance being iron and impurities; in an alternative embodiment, the titanium may be wholly or partly replaced by niobium such that two parts of niobium replaces one part of titanium. If cooled from high temperatures, ductility of the alloy can be recovered by heating at 100-650‹C., preferably at 350‹C., to reduce brittleness. These alloys are also resistant to embrittlement by welding.
