1326390 Vehicle suspension levelling systems V LANGEN [trading as LANGEN & CO] 5 Nov 1970 52725/70 Heading B7D In a vehicle suspension levelling system having levelling valves N 1 , N 2 , N 3 , N 4 each controlling connection of a respective one of hydropneumatic suspension units A 1 , A 2 , A 3 , A 4 with a return line T to a reservoir S and with a pressure line P supplied with fluid by a pump D at a pressure determined by a pressure-limiting valve V, the effective areas f 1 , f 2 , f 3 , f 4 of the pistons in the suspension units and the setting of the pressurelimiting valve are so matched that upward level adjustment is only just possible when the maximum permissible all-up weight of the vehicle is evenly distributed between the suspension units. Unwanted levelling operations when one wheel stands in a depression are thus prevented as there is increased loading on the remaining wheels. The levelling valves may be located within the suspension units, and air springs may replace the hydropneumatic units shown.
