Abstract
1326034 Photographic colour transfer materials INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORP 31 July 1970 [31 July 1969] 37180/70 Addition to 1220474 Heading G2C A colour transfer film unit yielding on exposure and development a colour print consisting of a positive colour image over a negative image and separated therefrom by a light reflecting layer, comprises a first opaque support layer, a silver halide emulsion layer containing the dye-transfer-image-forming compound e. g. a dye-developer, a reflecting layer containing a light reflecting agent, e.g. TiO 2 , BaSO 4 , ZnS, barium stearate, zirconium oxide or mica, present in a quantity insufficient to prevent exposure of the emulsion layer, a polymeric dye-image receiving layer, and a second transparent support layer, the film unit also containing at least one acidic layer. The reflecting layer tends to mask the negative image and to provide a background for the positive colour image. The processing composition may be contained in a rupturable container to discharge between the reflecting layer and the emulsion layer and may contain an opacifying agent, e. g. TiO 2 or carbon black, to complete the masking of the negative image. The film unit may comprise a plurality of emulsion layers to provide a multi-colour image. The unit is exposed, and the finished colour image viewed, through the second transparent support layer.
