Abstract
1325568 Continuous casting MANNESMANN AG 19 Nov 1970 [20 Nov 1969] 54965/70 Heading B3F The metal flow from a tundish 2 is directed in a continuous casting mould 1 by a device 3 having walls 6 inclined at 10-45 degrees to the (vertical) direction of casting to deflect the outflow from openings 5 and distribute non- metallic inclusions. The upper edge of each wall 6 is 5-40 mm. from the main body of the device. Some of the metal is caused to move upward and keep the metal surface with its protective layer 4 in motion.
