Abstract
1323060 Fixing print-out materials AGFAGEVAERT 28 Sept 1970 [9 Oct 1969] 49685/69 Heading G2C A print-out recording material comprises a photo-sensitive organic polyhalogen compound and an aromatic amine and as fixing agent therefor after exposure in non-chemically reactive relationship with the polyhalogen compound. a water-soluble iodide, e.g. an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or onium iodide. The polyhalogen compound and water-soluble iodide may be incorporated in the recording material (i) in separate hydrophobic and hydrophilic layers which merge with each other on heating (ii) in layers separated by a meltable thermoplastic or wax layer (iii) in meltable or rupturable capsules in which case the iodide may have a hygroscopic agent such as glycerol admixed therewith (iv) in two different binding agents one dispersed in the other which becomes a homogeneous mixture on heating or (v) by absorbing the iodide in a porous paper support and applying the polyhalogen compound in a meltable hydrophobic binder. In an alternative embodiment the iodide is applied after exposure as a processing liquid.
