Abstract
1321581 Moving coil transducers ROLA CELESTION Ltd 31 Dec 1971 [4 Jan 1971] 332/71 Heading H4J A magnet assembly for an electro-acoustic transducer, e.g. a longthrow loudspeaker, comprises an annular front plate 10 and a stepped rear plate 12. The plate 12 is of annular configuration with a central indented region 14 located to permit movement of a voice coil, normally positioned in the air gap 15, into the indentation. The corners 24 should be as sharp as possible with no thinning of the plate 12 over the bends. Plate 12 is preferably of low carbon steel. Between the two plates 10, 12 is an annular ceramic magnet 16 which surrounds a central pole 18 having its rear end of reduced diameter and fitted within a central hole 20 in plate 12. Screws or bolts 22 hold the assembly together.
