Abstract

1321536 Multi-cylinder paper dryers VALMET OY 2 June 1971 [3 June 1970] 18569/71 Heading F4G In order to prevent any net air flow through the ends of each pocket 8 of a multi-cylinder paper dryer (which would cause fluttering of the paper margins), the air flows into (arrows A and C) and out of (arrow B) each pocket 8 through wire mesh band 6 (or 7) are made substantially equal, by disposing the band guiding roller 3 in a position offset from the vertical median plane 9 of the pocket 8 towards the incoming paper web. The position of the guiding roller 3 is adjusted while the air flow C from the guiding roller is maintained constant.
