Abstract

1321147 Valves; mounting handles on shafts L PESENTl M SEGHI L SILVA L CROSA and S MAMOLI 19 April 1971 [17 April 1970] 23585/71 Headings F2U and F2V A water tap handle comprises a metallic member 5, a synthetic material member 15, and a metallic cap member 12, relative rotation between the metallic member 5 and the synthetic material member 15 being inhibited by forming the former with a non-circular extension 7 and the latter with a similarly shaped recess 8. The tap shaft 2 includes a toothed portion 3 which co-operates, non-rotatably, with a toothed portion 6 of the metallic member, whilst the synthetic member includes a plurality of resilient fingers 10 which engage a recessed head portion 4 of the shaft 2. The interengagement at 3, 6 and at 10, 4 serves to secure the handle to the shaft 2. The cap member is retained in position by means of resilient teeth 11 formed integrally with the synthetic material member.
