Abstract

1320929 Testing cam surfaces GERHARDT MESSMASCHINENBAU KG 28 July 1970 [28 July 1969] 36491/70 Heading G1N Apparatus for determining the operating position, i.e. the high point, of a cam 2 comprises a linear displacement transducer 4 whose feeler 3 is radially in contact with the surface of the cam. The cam is driven by a motor 1 and the transducer signal r is fed to a differentiator 12. At the low point on the cam, when dr/dt changes from negative to positive, a switch 6 is closed to feed the signal voltage through a changeover switch 8 to charge capacitor 9 while dr /dt is positive and to charge capacitor 10 while dr/dt is negative. After one complete revolution switch 6 is opened. The voltage on a meter 11 between capacitors 9, 10 represents the displacement of the operating position of the cam from symmetry with respect to the low point.
