Abstract
1319899 Stabilization of 1,1,1-trichloroethane SOLVAY & CIE 2 Sept 1971 [28 Sept 1970] 40986/71 Heading C2C [Also in Division C5] 1,1,1-Trichloroethane is stabilized against decomposition by metals by the addition of 2- methyl-3-butyn-2-ol and one or more costabilizers selected from 2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol, tert amyl alcohol, trioxane, epoxybutane, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl iaothiocyanate, norbornadiene, 2-methyl furan, dioxolone and nitromethane. Total stabilizer used is 1 to 6% by wt. of the 1,1,1-trichloroethane. The 1,1,1- trichloroethane may be mixed with other chlorinated solvents. Specification 969,107 is referred to.
