Abstract

1318484 Floating harbours HOYER-ELLEFSEN AS 23 June 1971 [23 June 1970] 29443/71 Heading E1H A U-shaped offshore floating harbour 1 of reinforced concrete or steel incorporates oil or gas storage tanks in its hull. Additional ballast tanks may be provided. The harbour may be moored to a stone filled concrete caisson (Fig. 3 not shown) by a pipe line leading to the storage tanks, in such a way that the harbour can swing through 360‹. Fur ther anchors and/or propulsion means may help stabilise its position. The hull may be continuous or the leg portions may be divided into two or more inter-connected portions.
