Abstract

1316388 Offshore structures HOYER-ELLEFSEN AS 23 June 1971 [23 June 1970] 29439/71 Heading E1H An enclosed offshore harbour in which vessels 9 can be moored is formed by one or more reinforced concrete caissons 2 extending up from the sea-bed, the caissons having cells 3, 4 for storing oil or gas and holding sand or stones respectively. The caissons which may be coated with plastic material, may have corrugated sides or piles or grilles may be spaced from them to dissipate waves. A stone or sand fill 7 below the caissons may be provided. A helicopter landing deck, process plant, crews quarters and the like are provided.
