Abstract

1318086 Continuous casting VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISEN-UND STAHLWERKE AG 26 May 1970 [30 May 1969] 25285/70 Heading B3F [Also in Division F2] A water-cooled mould (1) is surrounded by a hollow frame (1<SP>1</SP>) with which it is carried by a base 2; the mould, frame and base are interconnected for internal flow of cooling water by means of spigots 5 on the frame which are inserted into (and can be withdrawn from) seals 9 in sockets 7 in the base 2. The seals 9 have a ring of elastic material such as foam rubber and a ring 11 of harder elastic material such as rubber or plastics. The mould (1) is connected to the frame (1<SP>1</SP>) by bolt-andwedge fastenings for quick release.
