Abstract

1,241,805. Casting foamed webs. METZELER A.G. 18 July, 1968 [18 July, 1967], No. 34422/68. Heading B5A. In the continuous casting of a web of foam plastics means are provided to ensure that the web has a flat top. The plastics is cast in an open-topped channel having a moving base and stationary side walls and a flexible single or multipart lining. At the start of the channel the side walls are so shaped that the lining wall has an angular or curved configuration from which it is gradually diverted to assume a vertical disposition so that as the plastics expands and rises a flat top is produced.
