Abstract

1317833 Ventilating operating theatres JAMES HOWORTH & CO Ltd 13 Jan 1972 [25 Jan 1971 20 May 1971 12 June 1971] 3082/71 16133/71 and 27632/71 Addition to 1191386 Heading F4V An operating theatre, comprising an enclosure A formed by panels C, C<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>2</SP> and a curtain C<SP>3</SP>, is supplied with sterile air by a unit above the enclosure. Conditioned air from the atmosphere surrounding the enclosure A is drawn into the headers B of the unit by fans a<SP>1</SP>. The air passes along the headers B, through silencer sections, humidity and temperature control sections, if necessary, into bacteria filters a<SP>2</SP>, and finally, via diffuser tubes B<SP>1</SP>, vertically downwards into the enclosure A. The diffuser tubes B<SP>1</SP> are closed by a knitted fabric b<SP>3</SP> which provides a directional outlet for the air and also a final filtering of the air.
