Abstract
1317210 8,14-Dihydrothebaine MACFARLAN SMITH Ltd 24 Nov 1971 [11 Dec 1970] 58926/70 Heading C2C 8,14-Dihydrothebaine is prepared by heating thebaine with at least one thermally decomposable compound selected from optionally substituted alkyl, aryl and aralkyl sulphonic acid hydrazides and disodium azodicarboxylate (the latter being used in the presence of a proton-supplying substance). It may subsequently be hydrolysed to give dihydrocodeinone.
