Abstract

1317116 Portable containers STAR STABILIMENTO ALIMENTARE SpA 21 July 1971 11 Aug 1970] 34199/71 Heading B8D In a container wherein the flange 10 of a metal lid having an axially-inclined shoulder 12 is seamed to the peripheral flange 20 at the open end of an injection-moulded polypropylene container body 14 by a conventional seam, the container body is provided with an internal bevel 16A having a depth and inclination at least equal to the depth and inclination of the shoulder. The angle X of inclination of the bevel is in the range of 3‹ to 10‹. The bevel, in the embodiment of Fig. 4, terminates in a step or shoulder 16B. The container is of circular, elliptical or rectangular shape. The body flange 20 may or may not taper towards its edge.
