Abstract
1316596 Road traffic signals on vehicles ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 20 May 1970 [21 May 1969] 24369/70 Heading G4Q [Also in Divisions H1 and H3] A flasher unit 10<SP>11</SP> for a motor vehicle includes an integrated semi conductor component 10 provided with four terminals 1-4. An indicator switch 15 is attached to the steering column of the vehicle and two indicator lamps 16, 17 are situated on opposite sides of the vehicle. The unit 1011 includes a protective resistor RS3 and a protective diode D2. The integrated component 10 is constructed so that in the event of the vehicle battery 14 being connected with the wrong polarity, parasitic current paths in the component such as the paths formed by forward biasing p-n-junctions, have a high resistance thus preventing overheating and destruction of the flasher unit.
